As Co-founder and Technical Program Manager at SmartOakland, I played a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, piloting, and pitching a revolutionary GPS-enabled social impact data utility to over 600 stakeholders from public, private, and non-profits organizations. This platform integrated historic, live, and user-contributed data incorporating health, housing, climate change, urban fires, gunshots, drones, and crime data. Leveraging radar detection, gunshot detectors, computer vision, license plate readers, AI camera surveillance, IoT infrastructure, and edge computing alerts notified Oaklanders about environmental hazards, empowering them to navigate their surroundings more safely.
